COSHH

Substances hazardous to health can be liquids, powders, gases, vapours, fumes, solids, dust or living organisms.  They may be corrosive, an irritant, carcinogenic, flammable, explosive, an allergen or reactive disease agents.

Hazardous substances can find their way into the human body via inhalation, absorption through the skin, needles or ingested (swallowed).

The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations require all employers to control any exposure to hazardous substances and protect anyone who may be exposed.  There are stringent control measures that must be applied.

A risk assessment must be conducted to identify any control measures that are required to ensure safe working practices are developed and adhered to.

HRA can conduct your COSHH risk assessments, advise on precautionary measures, maintain and monitor controls, prepare and plan emergency contingency procedures and arrange any health surveillance that may prove necessary.
