Fire safety legislation

From the 1st October 2006 the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 became law and now requires any person responsible for any premises, an employer, a contractor responsible even partly for premises, any business or company, charity or organisation to have a Fire Risk Assessment for those premises. Fire Brigades are no longer responsible for issuing Fire Certificates and as such, the onus is now shifted to the individual responsible for the property. Any previously issued Fire Certificates are no longer valid.
