PAT Testing

Why do you need a workplace risk assessment?

The workplace risk assessment covers a multitude of variables, and often identifies small changes that can produce enhanced and improved levels of employee safety and satisfaction, resulting in increased productivity and efficiency. Additional benefits include minimised staff absences due to the reduced likelihood of accidents and injuries.

Contact Hazard Risk Assessments for more details about PAT testing and other assessments. Our company undertakes such work across London and Essex.

PAT testing

The law requires all electrical appliances to be regularly tested to ensure they are safe for use. HRA test every electrical appliance in accordance with the IEE code, individually label, create a comprehensive register for each appliance within your organisation, and log when the next test is due.

The Health & Safety at Work Act states all electrical appliances must be tested and inspected if:
  • They are used by employees
  • The public may use the equipment e.g. in hotels, schools, shops etc.
  • The equipment is supplied or hired
  • A piece of equipment is repaired or serviced
Part of Hazard Risk Assessments comprehensive service to clients is electrical Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing). This procedure can be completed in its own right, or in conjunction with other risk assessments that may be required by your organisation, and thereby achieve significant cost savings and minimise inconvenience.
